The UniFi AC Mesh is a new access point manufactured by Ubiquity Networks, distinguished by its compact size and weight. It can be mounted on a wall, a pole, or on sectoral and omnidirectional antennas from the same manufacturer. It operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, and its AC protocol support allows it to handle a total traffic of up to 867 Mbps.

Instead of standard antennas, the UniFi AC Mesh model can be connected to the UMA-D Wi-Fi antenna. Using this antenna, the coverage radius will increase 2 times for 2.4GHz and 4 times for 5GHz.

In Wi-Fi, information transfer is carried out by electromagnetic radiation. Electromagnetic radiation propagates in the form of waves that have a certain length and frequency. There is an inverse relationship between them, in other words, as the wavelength increases, the wave frequency decreases, and as the length decreases, the frequency increases; their product is a constant value and is equal to the speed of light propagation in a vacuum - 300,000 km/s. It is generally accepted that electromagnetic radiation has a conditional classification based on wavelength/frequency, into radio, microwave, infrared, visible, ultraviolet, X-ray, and gamma radiation.

Signal Quality by dBm

Wi-Fi signal is measured in decibels (dB) with a negative value. Therefore, the closer this value is to zero, the better the signal quality.

0dBm to - (-50dBm): High-quality signal (if this result is achieved, the transmitting power of the device needs to be reduced)

(-50dBm) to - (-60dBm): Good quality signal

(-60dBm) to - (-70dBm): Average quality signal

(-70dBm) and above: Low quality signal
