What to consider
- RAID. RAID 1 is minimum protection (two drives, mirrored). RAID 5/6 uses 3+ drives and balances capacity against protection.
- Backup. RAID is not a backup — you need a separate copy (an offline drive or the cloud).
- Drive type. NAS-series drives (WD Red, Seagate IronWolf) are rated for 24/7 writing.
- UPS. A sudden shutdown can corrupt data. An online UPS is essential.
What else you will need
- QNAP NAS units and NAS-series drives;
- Server cabinets, PDUs, server room cooling;
- Online UPS systems;
- Firewalls and UTM — to protect access to the servers.

How much does a server for a small business cost?
At ITGS servers and NAS storage cost between 1200₾ and 4860₾. For a small office (5–15 seats) a NAS at 1200₾–2000₾ is enough; a tower server starts from 2000₾.
NAS or a full server?
If you need shared file storage, backups and a video archive, a NAS is enough and much cheaper. If you need Active Directory, a 1C server or virtualisation, you need a full server.
Is RAID a backup?
No. RAID protects against a drive failure but not against accidental deletion, a virus or a fire. You still need a separate backup strategy.
Do you install and configure servers?
Yes. ITGS racks the server, installs the operating system and virtualisation, configures RAID and sets up a backup strategy.
