What to check before buying

• Socket. Intel — LGA1700 or LGA1851; AMD — AM4 or AM5. Processor and board must share the same socket;
• Cooling. Many models ship without a cooler — check the TDP and pick a suitable one;
• Integrated graphics. Intel F-suffix models and AMD non-G models have none — a graphics card is mandatory;
• Cores. Six cores handle most tasks; rendering and compiling want 12 or more.
