How much does a power supply cost?
At ITGS power supplies cost between 21₾ and 450₾. 12V units for security systems are 21₾–90₾, and ATX PC units 170₾–450₾.
How many watts do I need?
Add up the draw of your components and add 20–30% headroom. An office PC needs 400–450W, a gaming build with an RTX 4060 550–650W, and an RTX 4080 850W.
80+ Bronze or Gold?
Bronze is the sensible minimum (about 85% efficiency). Gold reaches 90%, with lower running costs and less noise. For a machine running around the clock, Gold pays for itself.
What is a modular PSU?
In a modular unit the cables detach, so you connect only what you need. That improves airflow and tidies up the case.
