What to pay attention to
- Wi-Fi standard. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) handles many connected devices far better — it is not only about raw speed.
- Coverage. A single router rarely covers more than 100 m² or a two-storey house. In that case you need additional access points (AP).
- Port speed. If your internet is faster than 100 Mbps, Gigabit ports are essential — otherwise the speed will be capped.
- VPN and firewall. Business networks need IPsec/WireGuard VPN and access policies — MikroTik RouterOS provides this as standard.
- PoE output. Some models power a camera or an AP without a separate switch.
What else you will need
- Switches (PoE and Managed);
- SFP modules, PoE injectors;
- UTP Cat5e/Cat6 cable;
- UPS — so the router stays on during a power cut;
- Firewall and UTM — for corporate protection.

How much does a good router cost?
At ITGS routers range from 145₾ to 8250₾. A home Wi-Fi 6 router costs 145₾–300₾, the MikroTik hAP series 300₾–800₾, and office-grade RB5009 and CCR devices start at 1200₾.
MikroTik or Ubiquiti?
MikroTik is noticeably cheaper and extremely flexible — ideal for VPN, firewall and complex routing, but it takes time to learn. Ubiquiti UniFi is simpler to manage and better for multi-site networks.
How many square metres does one router cover?
A standard apartment router comfortably covers 60–80 square metres. A large apartment or a two-storey house needs an additional access point or a mesh system.
Do you configure routers?
Yes. ITGS provides full MikroTik and Ubiquiti configuration — VLAN, VPN, firewall, QoS, guest network and traffic monitoring.
Is Wi-Fi 6 worth paying extra for?
Yes, if you have more than 10 devices on the network. Wi-Fi 6 improves stability under heavy load and reduces battery drain on mobile devices.
