Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a hard drive cost?
At ITGS hard drives cost between 151₾ and 2055₾. 1–2TB models are 151₾–350₾, 4TB drives 500₾–700₾, and 8TB and above start from 1200₾.
Why do cameras need a special drive?
An ordinary desktop drive is rated for about 8 hours of use a day. Surveillance drives (SkyHawk, WD Purple) are built for 24/7 writing and for recording several streams at once — a regular drive fails quickly under that load.
What size drive do I need for 4 cameras?
For 4 cameras at 4MP: 2TB holds roughly 7 days of continuous archive and 4TB about 14 days. With motion-triggered recording, expect 2–3 times more.
HDD or SSD?
Always an SSD for the operating system. For a large archive (video, backups) an HDD is far cheaper per terabyte.
