How to choose an IP camera
An IP camera sends video over the network to an NVR or straight to the cloud. That brings high resolution, AI features and single-cable power (PoE) — but the lens and resolution must be chosen correctly.

What is the difference between IP and HD cameras?
An IP camera sends video digitally over network cable (UTP) to an NVR. An HD camera uses coaxial cable and connects to an XVR/DVR. IP offers higher resolution, AI features and PoE power.
What is PoE and why do I need it?
PoE (Power over Ethernet) delivers both power and network to the camera over a single UTP cable. That cuts installation costs — no separate mains run is needed. It requires a PoE switch or an NVR with PoE ports.
How many cameras does a house need?
