What optical zoom means
4x zoom means the camera magnifies the subject four times without losing image quality. With 25x zoom a number plate can be read at 100 metres. Digital zoom simply stretches the pixels and does not preserve quality, so always check the optical figure.

- Auto-tracking. The camera follows a moving person or vehicle by itself — found on the Dahua SD49425XB and the Hikvision DS-2DE series.
- Preset positions. You can store 100+ points and have the camera patrol them automatically on a schedule.
