How to choose an intercom
- Analogue or IP. Analogue (2-wire) suits a flat or a small entrance. An IP intercom fits larger buildings with many flats where calls need forwarding to a phone.
- Answering on your phone. With the Dahua DMSS or Imou Life app you can open the door and see the visitor even when you are away.
- Recording. Many models capture a photo or video of every call — so you can see who came while you were out.
- Access control. Many outdoor panels double as RFID readers, so no separate lock system is needed.
- Protection rating. IP65 or better for an outdoor panel; a vandal-resistant housing for a building entrance.

- An electric lock — magnetic or bolt type;
- Access control — readers and cards;
- Surveillance cameras for the entrance and yard;
- Power supplies and UTP cable for an IP intercom.

Can I answer the intercom on my phone?
Yes. IP intercoms (Dahua, Imou) connect to a mobile app — when you are away the call arrives on your phone and you can open the door remotely.
Analogue or IP intercom?
For a flat or a small entrance an analogue intercom is enough and cheaper. For a multi-flat building with many subscribers and remote access, choose IP.
Is the lock included?
No, the lock is bought separately. The outdoor panel controls the lock, but the lock itself, the power supply and the exit button are separate items.
